About Our Workshop

    Why Our Workshop?

The Private Practice Development workshop exists to support therapists who are hoping to start their private practice OR therapists who are hoping to legitimize their budding practice. With Emily, Brittney, and Erica you will learn the ins and outs of starting a business from registering it formally, basic accounting to-dos, marketing resources, identifying your niche(s), considering the accessibility of your location, crafting your equity statement, branding your business, attracting clients and more. Our workshop is intentionally small, capped at 6 participants, to ensure each person gets the attention they deserve.

  • A tall plant on the left, a stool with a plant in the middle, and a cozy couch on the right with pillows and blankets.

    What to Expect

Upon registration, you will complete pre-work to identify your areas of strength and areas of need. This will also support us in preparing for your one-on-one consultation time with each of us.

On the workshop day, the first half of your day will involve teaching from Erica, Emily, and Brittney on their areas of specialty. Erica will teach about equity and accessibility within your business, and framing this within your private practice development. Emily will teach all things marketing and branding, and ways to consider your capacity as you develop your business strategy. Brittney will teach the ins and outs of starting and running your business from identifying your location to attracting your ideal clients.

The second half of this workshop will include one on one consultation with Emily, Erica, and Brittney each, along with worksheets for you to complete as you think through your private practice process.

From creating your business name, to identifying what legal documents are needed, to learning how to find a space that is accessible and inclusive, this workshop set me up for success. I would recommend this workshop to any one who is contemplating, ready to start, or has already begun the process of starting your practice to ensure you have covered all your bases and have the confidence to start a successful business!"
